HORROR MOVIE REVIEW: FINAL GIRL

It’s day five of my HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE where I have to see a horror movie a day during the month of October and write a short review for each one.
Hunters become hunted in FINAL GIRL, when four psychos take on the wrong kind of victim. Veronica had spent her whole life training to kill other killers, and she is ready for her graduation assignment. Let the blood flow!
FINAL GIRL is very easy to watch, but this doesn't make it a good film. Short, focused and concise as effective horror movie should be, it lacks any human element. First time director Tyler Shields chooses look over content and it is a safe card to play. Nothing in this film feels raw or real and it has the vibe of a Grimm's fairy tale. We are given just enough back story to like the protagonists and to hate the villains and when the action hits, it's half way over.
FINAL GIRL is a good idea gone to waste. But it's a not waste of time by any means.
